PostSubject: PIDS memory in an XTRAP   Mon May 28, 2007 4:07 am

There is a problem with the memory within the Passenger Information displays of the Xtrap trains.

They do not have enough memory to work the PIDS over the whole system.

It does have some spare memory, which is enough to do some more lines, but not all lines.

What do people here know about the amount of free memory in the Xtraps, and how much memory would each of the train lines take up?

All i know is, that they dont have enough to cover the network, but they could just do some lines and have the trains operate on only them, like maybe they could do the more busier ones, like Frankston, Dandenong and maybe Broadmeadows lines?

I thought that they were expandable, last time i checked. Is it SD cards, or what? If it is an SD card, could the cards just be rotated when necessary?
